Terms and Conditions

By entering this competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.  All entry instructions form part of the Terms and Conditions.

STAGE ONE – Applications

The McIntosh McInvest Community Grant Awards is open for applications indefinitely. The funding will be allocated to the winning community project on a monthly basis no later than 60 working days from announcement.

Entry to the competition may only be made in accordance with the specified instructions for entry published in print or online in conjunction with the competition.

The competition is open to individual residents aged 16 years and over on behalf of the community based group within the UK only. Directors, management and employees (and their immediate family) or any agencies or companies associated with the competition will be ineligible to win the Prize.  The Promotor’s decision as to eligibility of entrants will be final.

There is a maximum of one entry per community based project for the competition. No bulk, machine generated, consumer group, third party entries or multiple entries from one person (or those entries suspected as such) shall be accepted.  Use of a false name and/or address will void the entry.  The Promoter reserves the right to refuse (at its sole discretion) entries which are incomplete, duplicate or otherwise inappropriate.

The McInvest Grant will not consider applications from the following:

  • General fundraising appeals or activities.
  • Payments towards areas understood to be the responsibility of statutory authorities including schools. I.e. projects that take place in school, during school hours and/or only for the benefit of the pupils. PTAs/Parent Councils can apply if appropriately constituted but must evidence the project has genuine wider community benefit.
  • Retrospective funding for costs already incurred or activities which will take place prior to final decisions on the award of any grant.
  • Projects which do not benefit communities within the UK

All entries received [on a monthly basis] will be entered into the competition to be awarded part of the McInvest Funding available under the McIntosh McInvest Community Grant Awards.  Please note the total funding will be awarded to different community project levels throughout the UK. The amount of funding being asked for must be stated in the application form of which a maximum of £500 applies. The Promoter is solely responsible for determining the level of funding be awarded (if any) subject to these terms and conditions and completion of appropriate diligence.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, corrupted, damaged, lost or misdirected entries. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.  No responsibility will be taken for any website error.

STAGE TWO – Selection

All community projects will be gathered by the promoter from all valid entries received on a monthly basis. At least one Community project will be awarded funding each month. Please note that applications will be valid for up to 12 months so funding opportunities may fall outwith the month of application.

The winning community projects will be notified by email within 12 business days of the last working day in every month. Details of the winning community projects shall be made available on the website via www.mcintoshfoods.com/mcinvest/who-weve-helped.

All reasonable effort will be made to contact the winners. However, if any winner is not contactable or fails to respond to the email from the Promoter within 5 business days of notification, the winner will forfeit the funding and a further winner will be selected from the applications.  If a winner does not or is deemed not to comply with these Term and Conditions, the entry will be discarded and the prize will be reallocated to a further winner.

During the selection process, the Promoter may request additional information from any applicant to enable the Promoter to carry out appropriate diligence. Where any additional information is requested, this applicant shall provide the information requested within the deadline specified.  Failure to provide such information will result in the Promoter rejecting the application.


The funding allocated is non-transferable and must be used for the relevant community project. The funding cannot be exchanged for any cash alternative in whole or in part.

If for any reason any aspect of the Community Grant Award competition  is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the prize draw, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or invalidate any affected entries.

The winners of the funding shall, at the Promoter’s request, participate in all reasonable promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the award of the funding for no consideration and shall agree to the Promoter using their name and image in any promotional material.

The promoter’s decision regarding any part of the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

By registering and applying for the funding, all entrants agree to receive email communication from the Promoter about the competition, together with any other communication which they have intimated on the entry form that they wish to receive from the Promoter.

All entries, photographs, and other material submitted as part of a competition entry shall become the property of the Promoter solely for the purpose of the campaign.

Any person submitting an entry to the competition is providing information to the Promoter and the Promoter shall use any information obtained in accordance with its privacy policy.

The Promoter and its associated companies will not be liable for any loss (including without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with the competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.

The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Facebook/Twitter.
